About Ministry Of ICT Division Bangladesh
To give more impetus to the ICT sector, the Information and Communication Technology Division was separated from the Ministry of Science and Technology and became the Ministry of Information and Communication Technology on December 4, 2011.
In 2002, the name of the ministry was changed from “Science and Technology” to “Ministry of Science and Information and Communications Technology”. To give more impetus to the ICT sector, the Division became the Ministry of Information and Communications Technology on 04/12/2011.
The change is evidence of the understanding of the importance of ICT from the highest political level and also an indication that the government is willing to keep pace with the changing modern world.
Subsequently, on 10/02/2014 the Ministry of Posts and Telecommunications and the Ministry of ICT were integrated into the Ministry of Posts, Telecommunications and Information Technology. As of 10/02/2014, the Ministry of ICT begins as ICT Division. The change has breathed new life into the activities of the Information and Communications Technology Division.
